LeAnn: Minimally Invasive Surgery for Severe Spinal Stenosis · Dr. Hooman Melamed on YouTube

About this video

LeAnn says she dealt with back pain for about six years after working for the airlines throwing bags, and a heart issue delayed her surgery for a while. Speaking five weeks after her June 3rd operation, she says she has no pain at all and has already been running around the rim of the Grand Canyon, before even starting therapy. Her husband Robert, who had two back surgeries at UCLA, compares his overnight stays and larger scar with her same-day discharge and smaller scar.

Patient experiences are individual. Individual results vary.

Hi, do I have your permission, Mr. and Mrs. Wall, to record this and post this online?

Yes, you do.

Thank you. Please go ahead and tell us a little bit about yourself and Dr. Melamed.

My name is LeAnn Wall, and this is my husband, Robert, and I have been dealing with back pain for like 6 years. I used to work it for the airlines throwing bags, and I was in so much pain, but I had a little problem because I had a heart issue where I had an artery too small. So Dr. Melamed has been working with me for almost 4 years trying to get the surgery done, because I couldn’t do it for 2 years, and then I finally was able to have the surgery on July 3rd, and I honestly will not lie. June 3rd, sorry. June 3rd.

5 weeks ago, and I do not have any pain at all. I just went to the Grand Canyon, and I was running around the rim, climbing things, and I haven’t even started my therapy yet. And I woke up after the surgery, and the pain was gone, and I never dreamt that that would happen. And my husband’s going to say something because he’s had two surgeries.

Yeah, I’m Robert, and yeah, I’m just totally amazed. I mean, this, this doctor here is just phenomenal. I’ve had two back surgeries at UCLA. My latest one was 8 years ago, and I was a patient overnight in both of those, and for her to be able to go home the same day, and the scar difference between mine and hers, hers is a lot smaller. And I’m telling you, I just… She also has zero pain, and it’s just phenomenal for what we’ve been dealing with for the last couple years. I’d say this guy is unbelievable. He knows what he’s doing, and I, I, I don’t have any bad words to say. I… All I can say is great things about him. He’s just awesome.

Thank you so much. [inaudible]

Thank you very much. Thank you.

Thank you. Thank…
