Hooman M. Melamed, MD, a board-certified orthopedic spine surgeon who practiced in Marina del Rey at the time, has been inducted into the “Leading Physicians of the World.” According to Shannon Dawson, director of the organization, his charity work through his non-profit “Back To You,” also contributed to his being considered for the honor.
His profile will appear in the online and print versions of “Leading Physicians in the World,” which serves as a referral tool for physicians as well as a consumer guide.
Dr. Melamed specializes in minimally invasive spinal surgery and treats a wide range of conditions from complex cervical spine disorders to scoliosis (abnormal curvature of the spine). He is a member of Scoliosis Research Society and adjunct assistant professor of orthopaedic surgery at Touro University Medical Center.
