Testimonial – Severe Spinal Stenosis in the Cervical and Thoracic Spine

The patient describes life saving surgery to her spinal cord done by Dr. Hooman Melamed. She had severe spinal stenosis in the cervical spine and thoracic spine. She had cord compression of severe degree in both cervical and thoracic spine due to disc herniations. She was starting to have progressive myelopathy and losing function in her lower extremity with weakness in legs. She underwent urgent successful thoracic laminectomy, microdiscectomy and thoracic spinal fusion with instrumentation. A couple of months later, she underwent 4 level cervical anterior discectomy and fusion with instrumentation and bone grafting to relieve her cervical stenosis. She has had significant recovery of her myelopathy.
