Testimonial – Catherine Kagan – Microdiscectomy for Radiating Back Pain
Catherine Kagan had radiating back pain in her lower back due to a herniated disc. She underwent an outpatient minimally invasive back surgery, a Microdiscectomy. This is her story.
CATHERINE'S STORY Catherine Kagan, 41, suffered from a herniated disc resulting in low back pain and severe radiating pain down her legs. Conservative treatments such as spine epidural injections, physical therapy and PRP injections did not work and she continued to experience leg weakness and pain. A full work-up by Dr. Hooman Melamed determined that she had a large disc herniation which caused the radiating pain. Kagan underwent a L4/L5 microdiscectomy all done as an outpatient and her back pain was gone following surgery.
