Video · Patient story
Published on YouTube Length 1:42
A patient describes sciatic nerve problems that started two years earlier, with pain in the leg rather than the back, until an MRI showed the back was the cause. After getting a second opinion, the patient had a two-level fusion and decompression with Dr. Melamed. They say they felt much better within one to two weeks, felt really perfect at two months, and are back to five mile walks three or four times a week.
Patient experiences are individual. Individual results vary.

My friends, when they hear about me, you know, to see how I’m such a success story. I feel like the success story. I’m back to walking my five mile walk, like three, four times a week.
Two years ago I started having some sciatic nerve problems there. Like, there was nothing that I could do to prevent the pain. I, you know, I wanted to exercise, I still tried to exercise. I was finding when I would go out, all of a sudden my leg would just, like, bother me. It was always my legs, was never my back. I never even thought my back was really the problem. Then I, they did an MRI, which showed, of course, it is my back.
And so I did go see Dr. Melamed, and I saw, you know, another doctor, you know, to get a second opinion as well. And Dr. Melamed told me what he would do. He would do a, a fusion on two levels, like a double fusion, and a decompression. After about a week to two weeks, I was really feeling much better. Perfect. And I mean, not, and after two months I was feeling really perfect. Here it is about six months later.
I definitely recommend Dr. Melamed. I would definitely recommend his opinions, and I think he did a great job. My friends, when they hear about me, you know, to see how I’m such a success story, I feel like a success story. I’m back to walking my five mile walk, like three, four times a week, and I’m very grateful to the doctor.
Second opinions welcome
