At just 51 years old, Brad was told "either A: 'you're going to die, B: you're going to be completely quadriplegic, or C: we can fix you - we just don't know how well." In this video from DailyMailTV, Brad explains how hopeless he felt, coping with a severe neck injury from a motorcycle crash until he found Top US Spine Surgeon Dr. Hooman Melamed.
Dr. Melamed ordered up diagnostic imaging and immediately saw the problem. Brad had several previous surgeries under other physicians, but the results had caused his spinal cord to stretch which could have left him permanently paralyzed if not corrected.
Brad says he is "truly grateful for Dr. Melamed" and credits the surgeon with giving him a "second chance" at life.

You're either going to a) you're going to die, b) you could be completely quadriplegic or, c) we can fix you, we just don't know how. I couldn't brush my teeth, and then if I was going to do my hair or shave, I have to do this. I'll use my left hand to help, but I could not touch my face. I could not shake someone's hand. They ended up taking three pieces from my hip a bone marrow and putting it into my neck here. This is so bad that I don't know how you're walking. What happened was instead of fusing like basically flat like this, it kind of fused like curved down so the vertebrae kind of collapsed. It's like basically, you know, transecting the spinal cord. I did nothing. I was going to be quadriplegic. It chokes me up because it was a really, really emotional time. We basically uh did a 360 decompression, removed the pressure around the spinal cord from all circumferentially around it, and realigned the spine and fixed it in place. Dr. Melamed, you saved me. Thank you.
