In this video, a 74-year-old patient explains how he walked bent over for years, experiencing pain down the side of his leg and suffering from sciatica on the right side of his body. The pain was getting progressively worse, but that changed when his son-in-law and sister-in-law recommended him to Dr. Hooman Melamed.

Initially, Dr. Melamed and this patient agreed to treat his pain conservatively, but it got to the point where they realized nonsurgical management was no longer enough. The patient knew he did not want extensive surgery, so Dr. Melamed offered a minimally invasive procedure. Six weeks later, this patient is extremely happy with the result. Now, he’s standing up straight again, feels terrific, and is no longer experiencing any painful symptoms.

I came to Dr. Melamed because my son-in-law who had a very difficult back problem. I had a very great result from surgery that he did, and my sister-in-law had a great result, and once she likes a doctor and gets a good result she strongly recommends, and I was very happy that she did. I'm going to be 75 in two months and I was walking bent over and I was in pain down the back of my leg and on the side of my calf right side sciatica, and putting up with it for years and it was getting progressively worse.

Dr. Melamed wanted to treat it conservatively which I agreed for the initial time period, but it got to a point where it was pretty clear i needed to have some intervention. I didn't want to have any fusions or you know extended surgeries like that then he said we could try doing a more minimally invasive surgery and I said I'm more than happy to give it a shot and he's now six weeks out. I'm extremely happy with the result. All of the symptoms that I had that were giving me trouble um have gone away.

I'm able to stand up straight which my wife likes very much, and I feel terrific and I'm very appreciative. I've already referred three more patients to him in the last month.
